An evidence-based program to improve resiliency in adults and the young children in their care
The Reaching In Reaching Out (RIRO) Resiliency Skills Training Program is a 12-hour, evidence-based, skill-enhancement program for service providers working with children eight years of age and under. Educators learn to improve their own coping and thinking skills and develop abilities associated with resilience that they can model and directly teach to young children. Training targets skills in emotion regulation, impulse control, analysis of the causes of various problems, empathy, self-efficacy, realistic optimism, and reaching out to other people/opportunities. The website includes numerous free resources including the Resiliency Guidebook, training videos, recommended children’s books, and materials for service providers working with parents such as handouts, activities, and videos.
Additional evaluation information is available on the evaluation page of the program website.
